Marketing Tips
Making Every Single Client Touch Count
We offer this important counsel to all of our producers: every time you ‘touch’ your clients or your future clients, you should do everything you can do to look, sound , and ‘come off’ the way you really want to look, sound, and come off. These ‘touches’ are any time your clients or future clients hear from you, hear about you, or attempt to contact you, and can be as simple as the voicemail message people hear when they call your office or as complex as a multimedia campaign you design and execute.
One specific piece of advice we give that supports this philosophy is hiring a professional photographer to do a high-end headshot for use in all future ‘touches.’ It is dangerous to assume that owning a digital camera makes one a professional photographer! Pro photography is as much about lighting, skin tone, and post effects, such as contrast, as it is about pointing and clicking a camera. Trying to save a few dollars by not bringing in a real pro can be very costly in the long run if you end up attempting to forge an image with less than the highest-end look and feel to your photography.
Remember, it is you that your clients buy! Make sure you look the way you want to look! Besides, the money you pay for professionally finished stills is pennies per use if you get digital files for repeat use. You intend on being in the business for a while, right? A good-looking, high-end photograph for use in your image branding is one of the most sensible and low-cost investments you can make in yourself and your practice.
